Best Things To Do, Spokane: A Guide to the Top Attractions in the City
Credit: Image by Gayatri Malhotra | Unsplash
Must Visit Things to Do in Spokane
Spokane, situated in Washington State, is an active city that captures the essence of new-age city life alongside stunning natural scenery. The city offers its visitors breathtakingly beautiful parks, significant historical monuments and buildings, a variety of attractive art immersion, and a great variety of view food. If you're seeking out things to do, Spokane will not let you down.
At the same time, almost anyone interested in this beautiful city might be satisfied, whether you are interested in nature, history, the arts, or cuisine. Spokane has a lot to offer, and the following is the list of five recommended things to do in Spokane that tourists should visit.
Explore Riverfront Park
Riverfront Park is one of the major attractions in Spokane, WashCentre's Center. It is 100 acres, so it has many sights and can provide many exciting things to do for everyone.
The park's green space was constructed initially for the 1974 World's Fair and remains a free-access cultural facility for nationals and tourists nowadays.
Iconic Spokane Falls
Of the highlighted geographical structures in the park, the most impressive feature is probably Spokane Falls. These waterfalls are significant and unique, and while there are no helicopter tours or full-on treks through Victoria Falls, several viewing platforms throughout the park allow for the breathtaking sight.
For a better perspective, spin the Spokane Falls SkyRide, a gondola ride that visually narrates the falls and their vicinity.
Numerica SkyRide
Another popular attraction is the Numerica SkyRide in Riverfront Park, quickly becoming popular. This type of gondola ride is one of the highlights of any visit to this city, as is the beautiful falls it overlooks.
The actual ride takes roughly 15 minutes, and the exciting part is that there are myriad photo-worthy views throughout the experience.
Looff Carrousel
You can ride in the historical Looff Carrousel, a centennial carousel with intricately carved wooden horses for the kids and the child in you. This fun ride attracts kids and the young due to its timeless appeal.
Skate Ribbon and Pavilion
Riverfront Park's entertainment features include an ice ribbon that turns into a roller path. Nestled to the ribbon is the U.S. Pavilion, a large facility utilized for performances, functions, and a spectacular illumination show. Due to its construction and colorful environment, the pavilion can be considered the park's Center.
The M.A.C. Northwest Museum of Arts and Culture
For those who want to understand the history and culture of the Inland Northwest area, a journey to the Northwest Museum of Arts and Culture (M.A.C.) is a must.
This Center is located in the city's Browne's Addition neighborhoods and has a rich collection of exhibits, including art, history, and Native American culture.
Permanent Collections
This museum's collection is focused on objects from Native American cultures, especially the Plateau cultures of the Pacific Northwest. These collections give a rich history of the Aboriginal community that lived in the area for several generations.
Rotating Exhibits
Besides the permanent collections, there are temporary exhibitions and installations in the M.A.C., focusing on such genres as contemporary art and history with integrated elements. This is usually the case because such exhibits tend to showcase the artists' creations from the region and depict topics related to the area's past and present experiences.
Campbell House
Right beside the museum is the Campbell House, an original early twentieth-century-styled mansion. Tours of the house are available and reveal what life was like in Spokane for the people living there in those days. The Campbell House is one of the city's biggest attractions and an essential exemplification of the area's historical and architectural traditions.
Enjoy Outdoor Adventures at Riverside State Park
Natural lovers should consider themselves lucky to get a taste of Rivers State Park, a treasure trove of opportunities for those who want to spend time in the open air. This is one of the biggest parks in Washington, covering 9,245 acres and four miles northwest of Spokane.
Hiking and Biking Trails
Within the park are numerous, well-marked trails for hiking and biking that pass through wooded areas, open fields, and along the river edge. Some of the most used trails are the Bowl and Pitcher Loop, which gives a perfect view of the Spokane River and remarkable bowl-shaped rocks.
Water Activities
The Spokane River surrounds the park, creating good water recreational opportunities. Canoeing, kayaking, and paddle boarding are fashionable leisure activities, and with flat water to go on, one can just rent a kayak for the day.
Fishermen can also see different kinds of fish in the river, a common feature of the water source.
Camping and Picnicking
Riverside State Park has numerous camping and picnic areas and is the best place for a weekend camping trip or any event. This natural reservation offers many opportunities for camping, picnicking, and other recreational activities due to its well-developed infrastructure and beautiful natural environment.
Manito Park and Botanical Gardens
Manito Park and Botanical Gardens is a verdant ninety-acre park home to several splendid gardens and stunning landscapes. This park is in Spokane's South Hill and is considered a garden lover's paradise or simply for people looking for a quiet area away from the hustle and bustle of life.
Duncan Garden
Duncan Garden is one of the well-known venues in Manito Park. It is a formal garden of the European style characterized by an exact repetition of plantages, trimmed lawns, and a water basin in the Center. When in bloom, the garden is bright with colorful flowers, giving visitors a colorful view and peacefulness.
Rose Hill
Rose Hill is another place one cannot afford to miss when in Manito Park. Over 150 varieties of roses are grown in this garden, making the environment sweet and aesthetically appealing. Tourists can view roses in their full glory and their varieties in the garden.
Japanese Garden
The Nishinomiya Tsutakawa Japanese Garden is a quiet place that hints at Japanese garden design. This calming place has water basins for koi fish, stone lamps, and trimmed trees and bushes. The Japanese Garden is best for meditation since it has a relaxing environment.
Gaiser Conservatory
The Gaiser Conservatory grows a collection of exotic plants and flowers worldwide. An indoor garden such as this one is a paradisiacal milieu that allows people to touch the tropics any time of the year. During the winter, it is mainly in demand, as people prefer to go there to take a warm and colorful rest from the frost.
Spokane boasts phenomenal natural views, countless historical sites and attractions, and a healthy dose of modern arts and recreational activities.
So, start packing, and let me guide you to the things you cannot miss while in Spokane, a city that offers fun, fun, and more fun for anyone who visits!

Chan, words cannot even begin to describe how sorry I am for what I did to you. You had been acting so distant during your family’s annual trip. I was miserable and drunk, and your father was the only one there for me. One thing led to another… It should have never been like this. I know having you forget about our affair is impossible, but could you find it in your heart to forgive me? I haven’t been sleeping since we ended. I keep seeing your face the night you found out every time I close my eyes.
[Hello please know this had me fanning myself 💕 Trust Fund Baby!Chan x Fem Reader, Car Sex, Rough Sex, Dom/Sub Undertones, Explicit Consent]
The most sickening sensation of satisfaction washed over Chan when he finished reading your letter. He set the note on his nightstand before he pulled out his phone. Surely, this meant you were ready to talk, right? At least, that'd been what you assumed he'd been thinking. It was the only reason you were so willing to go see him.
Lunch would be low-pressure, you thought, but you still meticulously picked and preened over yourself until you were ready to finally face him. He had to see you as perfect, just like always. Chan certainly was, with the way he looked so cool and collected in your usual booth at your favorite cafe. The date was far quieter than your liking, but this wasn't really a date to begin with. That quiet was the only reason you'd agreed when he offered to give you a ride home.
It wasn't that Chan spun you around and herded you against his car that surprised you. The fact that it was the middle of the day and you could clearly see people in the small parking lot -- that was the part that surprised you. Your favorite cafe was on the riverfront, with all the little business clumped up into a little center of commerce and a short walk away from the park setting of the parking lot, located centrally from the walking trails, the riverfront boardwalk, and everything else. This was normally a sweet, idyllic little piece of gentrification.
And now Chan was roughly pushing his hands under your coat where he had you pinned against his car.
"Chan!" you harshly whispered. "What do you think you're doing?!"
"Do you not like it?" Chan smirked. "You'd offered to get your own ride. You still can; it won't hurt my feelings. Not more than you already did."
You bit into your lip. You did miss this. You did want this. The way Chan always knew how to treat you had kept you longing since you'd thrown everything away.
When you grabbed onto Chan's shirt to bring him closer, he'd grinned like nothing had ever gone wrong. As if you'd never messed everything up. He had his hands under the skirt of your dress in the parking lot, your coat covering the fact that he was openly groping your ass while he kissed your throat.
"Tell me the rules," he urged in your ear.
You gasped, curling your fingers into his hair when you felt his teeth on your skin. "Just the hard limits, okay?"
Chan's smile was pressed against your neck. "Atta girl. Now choose inside or out."
You quickly scanned the small parking lot and gulped down your beating heart. "Inside."
"That's what I thought," Chan warmly chuckled, his volume more level now and contrasting wildly with how he casually opened the backseat and pushed you in.
You yelped, but barely had a chance to react further when Chan rolled you over onto your back and climbed in between your legs. Your panties were already soaked when his fingers roughly pulled them aside.
"Is this okay, still?" Chan asked. His eyes searched you while he waited, refusing to do anything more until you nodded. However he wanted to work this out, you wanted it. And you missed this. "Good," he decidedly nodded, and suddenly his fingers were in you, stretching you out and filling you up. You clutched onto him, whimpering as quietly as you could.
"Don't get me wrong," Chan continued, "it wasn't that you fucked him. You know he and I don't talk and you couldn't even consent properly when you get messy drunk the way you do."
"Chan," you shook your head, "I--"
"Shush," he admonished you immediately. His thumb moved from where he was cupping your cheek to shove the digit into your parted mouth. Between your legs, his long fingers still pumped into you. "The thing I don't get is why we couldn't work things out like adults in the first place."
He removed his thumb from your lips, just long enough to let you speak.
"Chan," you repeated, "you wouldn't talk to me, I was so alone. I didn't even know if you loved me anymore--"
"And you're done," Chan decided, hooking a couple fingers into your mouth this time. Where your hips met, he'd withdrawn his fingertips from you and was trying to get his belt one-handed. "I tried opening us up for a conversation before that trip. You were on the trip with me! I didn't have to bring you!"
His eyes were aflame when you spat his fingers out. "Opening us up for a conversation?! When?! When you came into the living room and just sat by me for a couple minutes?! You already hadn't been speaking to me for days!"
"So you decided to spend half the trip the next week getting sloppy drunk? Great logic," Chan ridiculed. He knew he was exaggerating. You knew how hurt he was. Below your waist, Chan was excruciatingly teasing the head of his hot length up against you. You tried to grind down onto him, but he was always able to pull away. "Look," he continued. "Just tell me one thing."
"What?" you desperately asked.
"Do you remember anything about fucking him? About fucking my father?"
"Chan, you know--"
"Nope," he flashed the most forebodingly devilish grin. "You like to fuck dads? You're calling me daddy."
The way he was almost chuckling to himself made it look like he was joking, but you knew he wasn't. He was teasingly dipping the slick tip of his cock in and out of you. This was just fun for him.
So you decided you'd have fun. If this was him working it out, then fine. It wasn't ideal, but it did feel good.
He let out a shocked groan when you wrapped your legs around his waist, pulling him in so he'd slide into your hot pussy.
"No, daddy," you shook your head, "I don't remember."
"Were you better behaved for him than you are for me?" he asked, almost a growl as he began to roll his hips into yours.
"No-- I don't know," you gasped.
Chan replied with a rougher thrust, getting a measly whimper out of you. "Which is it? No or you don't know?"
"I don't know!" you decidedly repeated.
You only received a nod in response, Chan simply savoring you while he fucked you for a moment. "I bet you were good for him," he finally laughed under his breath. "That's what he told me, at least. Said you were a good little slut."
The name made you buck and thrash back against him in retaliation, but Chan manhandled you back into compliance, his hand gripping your wrist and the other tangled into your hair.
"Well then," Chan condescended. "I think that answers my next question. I was wondering how that made you feel, being a slut for my father."
"I hate it," you whined. Your response was automatic. "I hate it so much."
"Tell me why," ordered Chan, his hips firm and unrelenting in their pace as he thrust against you. The beginnings of an orgasm were stirring in your gut.
"Because I don't want him, I didn't want it at all," you answered. Chan almost had the decency to look upset for a second. You hooked your ankles together to make him grind into your depths. "All I remember is I asked him where you were. I was so sad, Chan."
"So was I, baby," he reassured you. "Then you don't want him?"
"No! Of course not. I only want you."
Chan's thrusts paused, for a moment before he resumed at a more fluid rhythm. "Tell me again."
"I only want you," you repeated, again and again. You only stopped when Chan removed his hand from your hair to hold your chin.
"You always did know how to make it better," he smirked, and he kissed you like nothing had ever happened. Just like you were only making love.
Chan angled his hips a little better in the backseat of his car so he could thrust more directly into your spot. His hands clenched your hips now, all while he continued to kiss you, and the moment you snapped and rode out your release, his hummed growl was made of satisfaction. "Atta girl," he gritted out again. "Now it's my turn, give it to me," he urged.
You met his thrusts with renewed energy despite your exhaustion, almost riding him from underneath him by the time he clutched onto you and came with a muffled shout, having dug his lips into your shoulder just as he reached his peak.
An undeniable awkwardness settled in Chan's car before he finally sat up. He pulled his coat back into place and smoothed his shirt back out. Meanwhile, you sat up to readjust your dress. You gingerly fixed your panties back into place. Chan gently herded you closer so he could get a secure arm around you. His fingers brushed the loose tangles he'd made out of your hair.
"I want you to come back to the house," he decided. "Is that what you want?"
You snapped out of your daze. "Of course--"
"But there will be expectations. Of both of us, obviously."
"I'm not drinking anymore," you assured him up front.
Chan paused before he let up a relieved, small smile. "I'm glad. I thought so when you stuck to coffee during lunch, so I did too."
"What was I doing ordering cocktails at a cafe anyway?" you sadly chuckled.
"Hey, I was buying them for you," Chan lightly ribbed. He fell quiet for a second. "I'm seeing a therapist, by the way. Don't think I don't also know that not saying anything is terrible communication."
"I'm glad to hear that," you nodded. "What do you think about couples therapy?"
He sighed. "I would've asked if you didn't."
"... And your father?"
You were both quiet. Your eyes were fixed on your knees. Chan softly took one of your hands in your lap. "My father's out. I told him I can't have someone like him around, not someone who can take advantage of you or anyone the way he did."
This was satisfactory, but there was still more. "And... you'll tell me what made you not talk to me in the first place?"
Chan shook his head with an embarrassed chuckle. "I thought I saw you and Hyunjin--"
"Me and Hyunjin?! We--"
"I know," interrupted Chan. "I misunderstood and jumped to conclusions. He told me, but only after I left the ski trip early."
"Okay," you nodded. He nodded in return.
"There's only one more thing," Chan added.
You steeled yourself.
"Never, ever call me daddy again."
A massive exhale deflated the tension between you both. This laugh was needed. Things were -- for all intents and purposes -- still bad, but at least now there was a hint of something better.

Events In The History And The Life Of Elvis Presley Today On The 25th Of June In 1977.
ELVIS PRESLEY'S SHOW AT THE RIVERFRONT COLISEUM IN CINNCINATTI OHIO.
Elvis Presley performed at Cincinnati’s Riverfront Coliseum ( Now The Bank Arena) for his next to last concert.
Cincinnati fans were among the last to see the Elvis Presley perform. His show at Riverfront Coliseum (now U.S. Bank Arena) on June 25, 1977, was his next to last concert, just seven weeks before he sadly died.
It was Elvis Presley’s fourth visit to the Queen City. He had only made it as close as Dayton and Columbus back in 1956. After a decade as a Hollywood star, he returned to touring in the 1970s and finally came to Cincinnati.
A few days later in Cincinnati, Elvis Presley suddenly checked out of the Hilton Netherland Hotel, complaining of inadequate air conditioning, and set out across downtown streets in his blue Drug Enforcement Agency jogging suit and sunglasses, trailed by his security.
All that was forgotten as soon as Elvis Presley stepped on stage to the theme from “2001: A Space Odyssey.” The crowd screamed. Instamatics flashed like strobe lights as he posed in his Mexican Aztec Sundial jumpsuit for each corner of the arena.
“No performer, 20 years after attaining stardom, receives the response Elvis Presley does,” The Enquirer’s Cliff Radel wrote in 1976. “If audience adulation was the determining factor, his title to the best entertainer showman there is. and ever will be can never be equalled there is only one Elvis Presley head and shoulders above the rest of them Elvis Presley is in a league of is own. North Saskatchewan River, Edmonton (No. 1)
The North Saskatchewan River valley parks system, also known as the Ribbon of Green or the River Valley Parks, is a continuous collection of urban parks around the North Saskatchewan River valley in the Edmonton Metropolitan Region of Alberta, Canada. The park system encompasses over 7,300 hectares (18,000 acres) of parkland, making it the largest contiguous area of urban parkland in the country. The park system is made up of over 30 provincial and municipal parks situated around the river from Devon to Fort Saskatchewan, with trails connecting most of the parks together.
Proposals to create a large park along Edmonton's riverfront were first proposed by landscape architect Frederick Todd in 1907, although the formation of a park system did not take shape until the late 20th century. In 1996, the River Valley Alliance (RVA) was formed to coordinate the development of the park system across the metropolitan region. Although large portions of the river valley are public parkland, some sections of the river valley are privately owned. In addition to the park system, the river valley is also used by the metropolitan area for stormwater management.
Most of the river valley is grasslands, although sections of it are forested. The river valley supports a high level of biodiversity and is used as a wildlife corridor by a variety of animals.

Could you tell me more about Chicago? I don't hear it romanticized as much as New York or LA but I've always wanted to go to complete the large U.S international cities tour
Sure! Here are some big hitters from a tourist perspective. (Disclaimer, this is gonna be basic because I'm writing it rapidfire, so please don't judge me fellow Chicagoans 😭🙏 and feel free to add!!):
GREAT food scene. It can't compare to New York or LA by volume but what's there is consistently excellent and isn't as overwhelming as those two.
America's best skyline. I'm being so serious. If you care about architecture you need to visit this city. If there's one touristy thing you do in Chicago, take the Architecture Tour on the river. It’s genuinely worth it even if you aren’t big into architecture!
Less important as a tourist, but genuine, unpretentious, friendly people. Most of my friends are transplants from other cities and it's near unanimous that Chicago is the friendliest/most sociable city they've lived in.
Our summers are PHENOMENAL. Constant events, free movies on the green at Grant Park most nights, festivals, and BEACHES. People don't realize we have beaches IN THE CITY!! Because we gatekeep it from outsiders!!! It won't compare to the ocean, of course, but it's such a nice thing to have access to in the summer! (and beautiful to walk on year-round, which leads me to my next point)...
Our lakefront is 99% public access, with a walkable path that winds up and down the entire city. You can walk the ENTIRE trail down the city without needing to detour. My second biggest recommendation is to rent a bike and bike as much of the lakefront trail as you can, especially in the summer. It's so lovely - city skyline on one side and blue on the other.
The birthplace of improv comedy and a major hub of jazz, blues, house, R&B, and hip-hop. If you see an improv show while you're here, there are lots of great options - Second City and iO are the biggest. Second City is the "original" of the originals, and if you see a show there, I recommend checking out green street farmer's market a couple blocks down and seeing a show before/after. It's in a really nice area. I'm not well versed in our music scene unfortunately!
Incredibly diverse neighborhoods with a lot to explore wherever you are in the city.
Northalsted/Boystown is the oldest offically recognized gay neighborhood in the US. Andersonville also has a really vibrant LGBTQIA community and is home to a LOT of wonderful local shops and food joints. It's a really good "walk around/explore" neighborhood. Actually, both of them are. (I don't know much about the nightlife unfortunately).
Bar scene - tons of really cool speakeasies and dive bars, some prohibition-era. Worth checking out if you drink.
Rooftops. Our city loves a good rooftop restaurant/bar. I'd recommend this over riverfront dining. We've got beautiful architecture, a lake, and a river to admire from them, and you can enjoy them even if you don't drink! Lots of really good happy hour deals abound.
Chicago-specific foods to try while you're here: Deep dish pizza, Chicago-style hot dogs, Italian beef sandwiches
i am here and i am very cute and gorgeous.
Some photos to sell you! These are from google. My phone is dead and I'm too lazy to crawl through my camera roll but trust me it's jorjus
#this is super shoddily put together but hope this helps!#woof#i also feel like i'm missing something huge to recommend but i can't put my finger on it. IT'S NOT NAVY PIER OR THE SEARS TOWER 🫵#i love my city. chicago is that girl and always will be.#ask

Bush's campaign has struggled to retain cash with under six months to go until the Aug. 6 Democrat primary. In fact, her committee's most recent filings show that it entered January with just $215,000 at its disposal. Her opponent, Wesley Bell, a progressive prosecuting attorney for St. Louis County who differs from Bush in his Israel stance, is currently better positioned and ended the fourth quarter with $408,000 in the bank.
Bell has also seen a fundraising surge since pivoting from challenging Republican Sen. Josh Hawley to entering the Democrat primary against Bush. From the beginning of October until late December, his campaign raised $492,000 and slightly edged Bush's money haul. He reportedly added another $100,000 in the first few weeks of January, his campaign told the Riverfront Times, which is not included in his most recent filing.
CORI BUSH'S CAMPAIGN PAYS $17,500 MORE TO HER HUSBAND, BRINGING HIS TOTAL TO $120K, NEW FILINGS SHOW
Along the way, Bell has also garnered the support of some deep-pocketed Democrat donors, such as LinkedIn co-founder Reid Hoffman, who gave the maximum $6,600 to his campaign for the primary and general elections, his filings show.
A recent poll found that Bush may also be in trouble come August. Bell is currently up by 22 points over the "Squad" member, the New York Post reported.
In addition to her campaign's substandard position, Bush is also staring down a federal investigation into her campaign payments for security, including to her husband, Cortney Merritts, whom she wed in February 2023. At the time of their marriage, Bush's office said they had been together before she entered Congress in 2021.
Merritts began accumulating money for security services starting in January 2022. Bush's committee, however, switched their description to "wage expenses" in April 2023 as they continued to bring scrutiny to the campaign.
Merritts has now collected $120,000 from Bush's campaign coffers. Politicians can pay family members from their committees if they provide "bona fide" services at fair market value. He pocketed the money as Bush's campaign simultaneously spent significantly more on St. Louis-based companies such as PEACE Security for private detail. She's spent over $770,000 on such services.

Merritts' online accounts and posts have indicated he worked at a railway company for years before starting a moving company. He did not have a private security license as of late February 2023, Fox News Digital previously reported. He also did not appear in a Washington, D.C., database of licensed security specialists at the time.
The ordeal triggered at least two complaints from watchdog groups in the subsequent weeks. The first complaint, filed to the FEC in March 2023 by the Foundation for Accountability and Civic Trust, is still pending. The ethics committee has since cleared Bush in a second complaint from the Committee to Defeat the President.
"Since before I was sworn into office, I have endured relentless threats to my physical safety and life," Bush previously said in response to the Justice Department investigation. "As a rank-and-file member of Congress, I am not entitled to personal protection by the House, and instead have used campaign funds as permissible to retain security services."
"These frivolous complaints have resulted in a number of investigations, some of which are still ongoing," Bush said. "The Federal Election Commission and the House Committee on Ethics are currently reviewing the matter, as is the Department of Justice. We are fully cooperating in all of these pending investigations."
Bush's and Bell's campaigns did not respond to Fox News Digital's requests for comment.

Portland Riverfront
7 September 2023
This ride began at Dragonfly (coffee, of course), but then headed down to the Willamette River.
I followed the trail along the east bank of the river south, then through neighborhoods south of Hawthorne, where I found, by chance, Upper Left Roasters. Another cup of coffee.
I returned along the west bank of the river, past downtown, and back to the Northwest neighborhood where we were staying.

getting through my work day when i'm bored seems to be the biggest struggle right now with staying sober. the entire day i just kept thinking about how badly i wanted to get high as soon as i was off the clock. i was even trying to bargain with myself "what if we PROMISE to go back to only on true weekend nights, friday and saturday only, sunday if there's a holiday--"
instead of giving in to any of that, i went to two grocery stores for things, put things away, cleaned up the kitchen, cooked a very mediocre dinner, and then spent some time out in my garden, pruning some things. the wildflower boxes i have are absolutely overgrown, but MAN some of the flowers smell so sweet and soft. it was really nice. i swept the front area by my car and then the back patio, and then took a long shower so i could do a sugar scrub for the first time in a year or so, then did a face mask, and did some stretches.
it seems so long as i can keep myself active in some way, my brain shuts up about wanting to be high. if i can't go to the zoo tomorrow, i'm gonna go for a walk along one of the riverfront trails, so ovo/
#trying to remind myself that it's warm out now so like. i should be getting outside more ldhflkj#i lamented all winter about not feeling like i could go anywhere#i dont have that excuse anymore lmao#boredom seems to be the biggest trigger so far#so hopefully i can manage that a little better knowing that#talking tag#i'm thinking week 3 and 4 are going to be the hardest#it's all fun and games now
